Frequently asked questions

Can I fly in your spitfire?

Sadly not. RW382 is a single seat aircraft.

However, our friends at Fly a Spitfire have just painted their two Seat Spitfire MT818 to Fly in USAAF Colours for 2025.

It is stationed at the historic WWII fighter station at RAF Biggin Hill. You can book your experience here.

How much does it cost to hire the Spitfire?

Costs are dependent on location, with drops closer to our base of Sywell Aerodrome being the most affordable.

We tailor every hire package to your specific needs and offer bespoke quotations but as a rule of thumb you can expect the cost will be in the region of £3500 per hour plus VAT

Where do keep your Spitfire?

Our spitfire is in a hangar at Sywell Aerodrome.

Do you sell branded merchandise?

We often do giveaways of hats, t-shirts and other merchandise at events we attend.

Can I advertise that you are doing a flyby?

We can provide flypasts for weddings, birthdays, fetes and other PRIVATE events not open to the public.

Due to Civil Aviation Authority restrictions once a flyby is advertised it legally  becomes and airshow which requires different regulatory compliance and therefore affects the cost.

How low do you fly on a flypast?

CAA regulations require private flypasts are flown no lower than 500 ft.

Can you scatter my loved ones ashes?

We are currently going through approval with the CAA to be able to offer this service in the near future.

The flight lasts as long as it takes to get to the release point and the return back to the airbase. Obviously the further the flight the greater the price, mainly due to increased fuel costs.

Who do you recommend for aerial photography?

We highly recommend the air to air photography services of Darren Harbar.
